Old Home Distillers Takes Platinum, Double Gold Among 13 Medals at 2021 Competitions

Lebanon, New York - Old Home Distillers has once again earned high marks in 2021, winning coveted platinum medals for its New York Single Malt Whiskey and 100 Proof Corn Whiskey, and a double gold medal for its Peppershine, a jalapeño-infused corn whiskey. The family-run farm distillery recently received a total of 13 medals in a pair of charitable spirits competitions, the Finger Lakes International Wine & Spirits Competition (FLIWC) and the Great American International Spirits Competition (GAISC).

“Competitions should be taken with a grain of salt and have never been our top priority, but we’re very pleased to see these results,” noted co-distiller and operations director Adam Carvell. “Our bourbons have always received a lot of attention but not everyone is familiar with corn whiskey and American single malt. Earning platinum medals for these less-known styles shows just how far we have come since starting in 2015.”

“The 100 Proof Corn Whiskey was our very first product, and our New York Single Malt was the first spirit we ever barreled. It’s gratifying to see them so highly awarded,” added co-distiller and marketing director Aaron Carvell. “Funny thing though - we heard about the double gold for our Peppershine just as it went out of stock. Don’t worry, we’ll make more this fall when local jalapeños are harvested.”

In addition to the platinum and double gold medals, Old Home received ten silver and bronze medals for a total of 13 awards:
